ESE WELCOMES SUZANNE SCHNEIDER AS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Suzanne Schneider, of West Springfield, Mass., has joined Eastern States Exposition’s (ESE) as an administrative assistant in the Sales department. In this adaptive role, Schneider assists the Sales department by facilitating the insurance process for retail and food vendors during The Big E and ESE’s year-round program, aiding department managers and serving as support for new and returning vendors alike.
Schneider earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She continued her education through Pennsylvania State University, where she obtained a master’s degree in adult education.
Schneider most recently was the office manager of Kutty’s Fuel Oil in Springfield, Mass. In this position, she managed account receivables and coordinated the customer service team. Prior to her tenure as office manager, she applied her degree in education as the director of Mittineague Methodist Community Preschool in West Springfield, Mass., and as the executive director of Lenox Children’s Center in Lenox, Mass.
When asked what drew her to ESE, Schneider said, “I’ve seen it through different lenses–as a little girl from Springfield petting all the animals, a teen loving the Midway and entertainment, a married woman visiting the Western Mass Home & Garden Show and as a mom bringing her kids to love the Fair, too. When I saw the listing, I thought, ‘What’s on the other side?’ After joining, I found that the building and the people had the same welcoming feeling as [ESE’s] events.”
Outside of the workplace, Schneider generously gives time to the West Springfield Public Library’s Friends of the Library as the club’s social media content curator, as well as to her children’s extracurricular programming, through which she is a parent of the booster club and aids with general fundraising.
